Conducted or on-going studies in the Faculty of Agricultural Ecology:

  • Water soil and plant farm in different edaphic and trophic conditions as well as its regulation by means of watering (especially by rain);
  • Rationalization of plant rotation, both in mass aspect and crops quality as well as its reaction to soil;
  • The role of after harvest remains of different cultures in varied nature and anthropogenic habitat;
  • Studies on soil cultivating systems in different ecological conditions in Poland;
  • Influences of plant cultivation on soil culture and growing plants. The results of land rotation and land recultivating temporarily excluded from agricultural usage;  
  • Studies on ecological agriculture.

 

Current Faculty research issue


Research issue of the Faculty of Agriculture Ecology is concerned with questions connected with creating optimal conditions of growing plants in varied ecological conditions. In particular, the research concerns specifying the maximum level of crop protection chemicals as well as mineral fertilizers, usage of other than energy-consuming means of production, mostly reasonable use of plant rotation and crop potential of new kind. All these activities have pro-ecological character with respect of lowering the level of environment pollution as well as the use of some species of plants for renewable energy. The Faculty has been specializing in ecological agriculture and is famous for the research done in Poland and neighbuoring countries. Recently that subject concerns comparing the fertilizing ecological and traditional systems. A great part of Lubelskie region is concerned with fito-indication evaluation of fields with the use of segetal and ruderal flora which will be used for bio-indicating soil evaluation.

 

The study on rotational changes on arable land excluded from cultivation need long term observation. Similarly, the evaluation of alleopathical weed reaction which are found in intensification during germination and initial growth of the most important kind of crops is time consuming because of the necessity to get long term results. The problem is especially important because of more than 70% crops participation in sowing structure.  

 

A second study aspect is biovariety plant species evaluation in a chosen area of Lublin region. Other subjects concern environment pollution as a result of using pro-ecological technological production, in particular monitoring the changes happening in agroecosystems depending on some factors and pointing out reasonable cultivating methods. Ecological evaluation and cultivating results of land rotation as well as agricultural methods of planning the arable land temporarily excluded from cultivation.
